Time is drawing nearer to the 32nd annual Reggae on the River, the authentic granddaddy of the reggae festival experience, brought to you by the Mateel Community Center on the beautifully flowing Eel River in the green forests of Humboldt County, CA August 4-7, 2016.
Seamless daily performance schedules have just been announced! And just added, massive boom shots coming straight from the King Tubby soundsystems of the late 60's right to the 21st century ROTR stage, the ageless Daddy U-Roy himself, highlighting another year of reggae's most honored legends (U-Roy, Big Youth, Yellowman, Sister Carol, Earl Zero), hottest rising stars (KRANIUM, Jesse Royal, Protoje, Jah9, Keznamdi), established dons (Anthony B, Sizzla, Agent Sasco aka Assassin), new generation legacy holders (Addis Pablo, Gappy Ranks), and worldwide notables (Mbongwana Star, House of Shem, Fatoumata Diawara)- and many more. Also just confirmed, Italy's Raphael, joining Jah Sun and Lion D with Dubtonic Kru in a Sugar Cane Records showcase; along with the passionate Jamaican star, Keida.
Hit the site at reggaeontheriver.com for daily schedule listings and artist bios, plus 3 and 4 day tickets, and some of the super-cool ways you can go large on your Reggae on the River fun this year- like the perks and access-ladenAmbassador Pass and info on how to go RV stylee. Either way, cyan delay, cause things are going fast and numbers are limited!
60 vending and non-profit booths, a lively Kidlandia, and the scenic wonder of our natural surroundings will round things out in creating the high vibes of a true gathering of the reggae tribes...
